The media portrays girls as always being beautiful, skinny people. This is not realistic. Every girl is different; everyone has a different ideal body weight for themselves. Stop paying attention to the tabloids and magazine covers and see a nutritionist. He or she can tell you what a proper weight for your body should be. They can give you useful tips on staying healthy, and even help you make an eating plan. You can hire a personal trainer or simply do daily task differently, like walking rather than driving. If you do not have access to a nutritionist you can simply eat healthier. If there is a lot of colour on your plate, for example lots of vegetables and fruits then you know it is better for you. There are plenty of books out there as well. Reading one and following it can help, and it is much easier than just going by exercising and healthy eating. They can tell you different exercises to do for you body and what will work and what wont. Do not let the media influence the way you look and feel.
A great website to look at is the following:

This gives you the information you need about the media and how it is influencing girls.
